As Dragos embarked on his art career, a nagging fear lurked. That traditional painting would eventually be overshadowed by digital media. As he experimented and grew along his artistic journey, he adopted the use of heavy texture. Through working with texture; he discovered that digital media cannot fully capture 3d, relief-like textures. This became his "eureka" moment.Today, Dragos' work is characterized by thickly layered surfaces, which are achieved through the use of various acrylic mediums; such as gels, pastes, and glazes. With these tools, he's able to surpass the confines of conventional artistry, and evoke a burning desire to touch. Reminding his audience that touch is a human need, Dragos elevates the very essence of traditional painting, and invites viewers to engage his work by reaching out and actually touching the work itself.
